About the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship

The Knight-Hennessy Scholarship is more than just a funding opportunity—it's a leadership journey. Scholars pursue any eligible graduate degree at Stanford while also participating in the King Global Leadership Program (KGLP). This program includes leadership training, professional development workshops, global projects, and experiential learning.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants from all nationalities and academic backgrounds are welcome to apply. However, to be eligible for the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship, you must:

  1. Apply and gain admission to a full-time Stanford graduate program (e.g., JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MS, PhD, etc.).

  2. Fulfill one of the following conditions:

    • Apply separately to both Knight-Hennessy and a Stanford graduate program to begin in the same year.

    • Hold a deferred admission to Stanford and apply to Knight-Hennessy for the same start year.

    • Be a current Stanford graduate student applying for a second program and Knight-Hennessy to start together.

    • Be a first-year Stanford PhD student applying to begin Knight-Hennessy in your second year.

  3. Have completed your undergraduate degree in January 2018 or later.

Scholarship Benefits

Selected scholars will receive:

  • Full funding for tuition and associated fees

  • Living stipend to cover accommodation, meals, and academic expenses

  • Travel stipend for one economy-class round-trip ticket per year to and from Stanford

Additional funding for academic enrichment, conferences, or leadership development may also be available.

How to Apply for the 2026 Knight-Hennessy Scholarship

To apply, follow these steps:

  2. Apply separately to your chosen Stanford graduate program.

  3. Simultaneously, complete your Knight-Hennessy Scholarship application.
