  • Czech Language: Follow-up Master’s Programs (2–3 years) + 1-year Czech language and preparatory course

Benefits of the Czech Government Scholarship 2026-27:

  • Tuition fees are fully covered by the Czech government.
  • Follow-up Master’s: CZK 16,000 per month Doctoral (PhD): CZK 24,960 per month
  • One-year Czech language and preparatory course is fully funded for Czech-taught programs.
  • Scholarship covers only the standard duration of the selected study program.
  • Standard health services are covered, except for pregnancy and some additional treatments.
  • The living expenses must be paid from the monthly stipend.
  • The scholarship decision document can be used for applying for long-term visa or residence permit.
  • Initial medical examination upon arrival is covered if urgent care is needed within the first 60 days.
  • Full-time, on-campus study is required throughout the scholarship period.
  • There is no application fee or participation fee for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria of the Czech Government Scholarships in Europe:

  • Applicants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus (democratic forces), Ethiopia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Zambia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Jordan can apply.
  • Citizens of the Czech Republic, the European Union, and residents of the Czech Republic are not eligible.
  • The graduates of a Bachelor’s degree can apply for the follow-up Master’s Program (instructions are given in the Czech language) in selected areas of study, with the one-year preparatory course in the Czech Language.
  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree holders can apply for the Follow-up Master’s programs or Doctoral programs, where instructions are given in the English language.
  • The entrance test is required by the university.
  • Specific Language proficiency is required.

How to Apply for the Czech Government Scholarships:

  • Students have to apply through the online application available on the official website.
  • Fill the form in the Roman alphabet, if possible. Otherwise, you can fill it up in English or Czech language.
  • Put the assigned application identification number in the right corner.
  • Paste the photo in a designated place.
  • Fill up all the boxes appropriately.
  • Upload the motivation letter, reflecting your interest to pursue the particular degree program.
  • Complete your application form carefully and send the printed signed copy to the Government of the Czech Republic.
  • Documents required for the Czech Government Scholarships: You will two copies of some documents. 

For Follow-up Master’s:

  • Motivation letter, 1 A4 page
  • CV focused on education and work experience
  • Copy of passport, if issued
  • Signed Declaration of Acceptance of Scholarship Terms
  • Signed Declaration on Health Services
  • Signed Affirmation to Return to the Country of Origin
  • Legalized birth certificate with certified Czech translation
  • Medical certificate, issued no more than 2 months ago
  • Legalized Bachelor’s degree/diploma and Diploma Supplement or equivalent, with required authentication and certified Czech translation
  • Academic transcript/list of subjects, examinations and grades where applicable
  • Additional information about the completed university education, where required.

For Doctoral (PhD):

  • Motivation letter, 2 A4 pages
  • CV
  • Copy of passport, if issued
  • The three signed declarations mentioned above
  • Legalized birth certificate
  • Medical certificate, issued no more than 2 months ago
  • Legalized Master’s diploma and Diploma Supplement/equivalent with required authentication and translation
  • Academic records where applicable
  • Overview of publications
  • 3-5 page dissertation thesis proposal/focus
  • Two recommendation letters from professors
  • Other documents showing academic/scientific achievements, if applicable.
