 Germany Scholarships - Fully Funded DAAD Helmut Schmidt Scholarships 2025-2026 for Masters Degree Program for International Students

Call for Applications for the 2025 Intake. Applications are now open for the DAAD Helmut Schmidt Scholarship 2025 in Germany. It is a fully supported master's degree scholarship in fields related to social, political, and economic development. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships to students from underdeveloped and rising nations.

If you hold a bachelor's degree (16 years), you can apply to the Helmut Schmidt Program. This program involves a total of seven universities. There is no fee to apply for it. The selection will be done in October 2024. The sessions will start in October 2025. More information on the prerequisites, eligibility criteria, and application process for the DAAD Helmut Schmidt Scholarship 2025 is provided below.

Financial Benefits:
The DAAD Helmut Schmidt Scholarship is fully funded. The benefits include:
  1. Monthly stipend, contributions to health insurance, and round-trip airfare tickets. Travel allowance Study and research subsidy
  2. Monthly rent includes allowances for spouses and/or children, where applicable.
  3. 6-month German language course.

Our focus areas include public policy, good governance, international relations, public management, public administration, civil society, social protection, peace and conflict studies, development, and socioeconomic policies.

Applicants may apply for up to two master's courses listed below. There are scholarships available for seven master's degrees at the following universities:

  5. Course Name: Public Policy
  6. University: Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt
  7. Course Name: Peace and Conflict Studies
  8. University: Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg
  9. Course Name: Management in Nonprofit-Organisations
  10. University: University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück
  11. Course Name: Development Studies
  12. University: University of Passau
  13. Course Name: Governance and Public Policy
  14. University: University of Passau
Eligibility criteria:
  1. Applicants from developing and emerging nations may apply. Check the Helmut Schmidt Scholarship Eligible Countries List.
  2. Applicants with a bachelor's degree in Social and Political Sciences, Law, Economics, Public Policy, and Administration, or in a related discipline.
  3. Applicants must have finished a 16-year bachelor's degree program at a university.
  4. The applicant must apply for the specified Master's degree program.
  5. You may apply for up to two Master's degree programs.
  6. Applications must be submitted in either English or German.
  7. There is no age limit.

  4. Currently written reference.
  5. Proof of English language skills.
  6. Practical experience applicable to the Helmut-Schmidt Programme (obtained through professional experience, internships, and political/social engagement).
